2 Thumbs Up For Google's +1 Button

As a business owner, you most likely already realized the importance of establishing a trusting relationship with potential and existing customers.

People tend to like what others like-and this BUILDS TRUST that can spread quickly.

+1 lets you share recommendations with friends, contacts and the rest of the web when your advice is most helpful – on Google search. Similar to Facebook's "LIKE" button, +1 allows the end user to have a say in things.  Allowing the potential or existing customer to provide you with feedback about your product or service goes a long way nowadays.  3rd party credibility features such as the +1 button from Google  and Facebook's "Like" button allow prospects to interact with your brand and establish instant TRUST.

The closer you are to someone emotionally, the less believable you are in most other areas. On the other hand, the farther away emotionally, the more believable you are.

When you phrase your wisdom, opinion, or instruction as having come from someone else (a 3rd party), the person with whom you are sharing this information with, is more likely to accept it as TRUE and believable.

3rd Party Credibility is based on the human tendency to value the opinion/expertise of someone outside their circle of influence more than someone within.

By providing prospects and existing customers the ability to voice their opinions, your brand and or company will create instant credibility, TRUST and an authoritative online web presence.

Insert the code onto your page today. Just copy and paste the following code below onto your site.

CODE:

<!-- Place this tag where you want the +1 button to render -->

<g:plusone></g:plusone>

<!-- Place this render call where appropriate -->
<script type="text/javascript">
  (function() {
    var po = document.createElement('script'); po.type = 'text/javascript'; po.async = true;
    po.src = 'https://apis.google.com/js/plusone.js';
    var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(po, s);
  })();

The Unique Selling Proposition - The Driving Force Of All Your Sells

Ever wonder what makes the great giants of today’s marketing world stand out from their competition? The Lexus’s, Cadillac’s, Disney, FedEX, Dominoes, Nike and Coca-Cola.

How is it that when you mention the word mp3 player, you automatically think iPod. Or what about when you ask for a piece of tissue paper, do you catch yourself asking for a Kleenex?

How is it all done?

In the marketing world we like to call it a U.S.P (Unique Selling Proposition). In sociology, it is known as differentiation. In simple terms, it is simply standing out from the rest. It is the characteristics of your brand that set you apart from your competition. It is what persuades consumers to exchange money for your product or services. It’s what fulfills your desires, needs, demands and wants.

Your U.S.P is the driving force of your company and it’s success. No longer can you use the same “Me Too” approach that everyone else is using. Separate yourself from the competition and position yourself as the only choice in your prospects eyes.

Don’t just Think, Think different!.

Your U.S.P is the driving force of what your offering. Identify what needs, demands, wants and desires are being unfulfilled within your market. "Alleviate that "PAIN" in your U.S.P and make sure you deliver on your promises.

Using a compelling U.S.P is the driving force that builds your business success.  Establish your U.S.P and use it on all your marketing materials for maximum results.

Put yourself in your customers shoes and sell yourself on your product or service from the outside looking in. Why should I buy from you? What makes your different then everyone else? What sets you apart from the competition?

Understand what motivates your customers into a purchasing habit. What drives and motivates your customers to buy? How do they FEEL when they purchase your product? Understanding the behavior and motives of your customers and or prospects is one of the key ingredients to a successful U.S.P.

Set yourself apart from the rest and let your imagination and creativity wonder off into a space of fulfillment.

Emotional Bonding: Connections That Lead To Sales!

EMOTIONS play a large part in our lives but what is their purpose? Emotions are the fundamental system that drive us as humans, forcing us to act, rewarding us with good feelings when we behave right and making us feel bad when we do the wrong things. Although we can influence what we FEEL by what we THINK, we still only have limited control over our emotions.

Emotions are also called “FEELINGS” as we literally feel what we think when we think it. Emotions can range from happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, desire, joy and so much more.

When people communicate with each other, there is a constant stream of expression and interpretation. Through this communication, we form relationships with others, establish a bond through the means of liking the other person and thus a friendship is form.

TRUST plays a vital role in the stability of a LOYAL and HONEST relationship. It is the cornerstone in which all relationships grow from. When RESPECT and TRUST are tied closely, they create an instant BOND with any and all people.

“Trust is an essential, a basic foundation on which all interaction is based.” - David Straker

Instant TIPS for establishing both short-term and long-term TRUST:

  • Be Predictable
  • Establish Rapport
  • Have A Caring Heart
  • Stay Loyal
  • Be Reliable
  • Have Integrity
  • Be Kind
  • Keep Promises
  • Manage Expectations
  • Be Honest
  • Be Willing to Commit

Human interaction and communication is no different then business to consumer behavioral interaction. After all, humans are the ones purchasing the products and or services.

As we always tell our clients, “People buy from people they care, love and or trust.”

But in order for someone to TRUST you, CARE for you or “LOVE” you, they must get to KNOW you!

Give your BRAND attributes, characteristics and a personality. COMMUNICATE what you FEEL. Be creative and just have fun!

Don’t be scared to TRY new things and THINK outside the box. Use your imagination to come out with creative concepts that capture the audience with Flare, Enthusiasm, Passion and Energy. Move them in a way that makes them FEEL a NECESSITY to purchase your product or service.

Learn to ASK, LISTEN then RESPOND.

Pay attention to signals and cues which will enable you to have a better understanding of their Problems, Wants, Demands.& Needs.

Paint the Perfect Picture for them and pull on the strings of the HEART. Emotionally get them to FEEL the same PASSION you had when you began this journey on the SEARCH of your Identity.

Writing Killer Copy That Sales!!!

The essence of TRUE COPYWRITING is TUGGING THE HEART STRINGS of those you write for,and it must ALWAYS come from a place of truth. Sure, folks will lie and some will even succeed at it however YOU are a person of INTEGRITY, You want to sleep at NIGHT, KNOWING that you didn’t make blood money.

You want to be well respected in your industry, so then your COPY WRITING will be EFFECTIVE because it will ALWAYS come from a Place of TRUTH! IF a person doesn’t feel EMOTION, they will not Buy what you’re offering. A part of this TRUTH is knowing who you are-YOUR BRAND

Effective Copywriting is marrying EMOTIONALISM WITH BRAND IDENTITY. IF we Know who you are, know what you’re about, know what you’re offering, then we can create an EMOTIONAL REALITY that will benefit your organization.

FOR A QUICK MOMENT, close your eyes and imagine an 89 yr old lady(possibly your grandmother) -SINGLE, ALONE. Her Husband , Best friend or over a decade has passed away and ALL of her friends have long been gone as well. She FEELS Hopeless and to COMPOUND matters her health starts to
fail.

What’s worse is the last money
that she has she cannot spend on life sustaining medicine because she spent it on some ELABORATE Ponzi Scheme. This sweet old lady had the best intentions in the world.

She only INVESTED in the Scheme because she was promised a monumental return on investment and she was going to use that money to bury her late husband…Without Money.. Without a Friend in the world, Her Health starts to Further decline, and she finally gives up the Ghost,…and DIES… Her body is DISCOVERED by a neighbor who smells a STRANGE stench and sees flies buzzing around the ladies home. ..Why? Why? Sure she was older, maybe it was her time,. However This Sweet innocent Old lady. The Lady that cooked you those brownies when you were younger. The lady who was so sweet and so kind, didn’t deserve to leave the world in this fashion.

If you CLOSED your eyes, and have any sense of humanity this story is a
heart breaking. Some of you are FEELING SAD that this older lady died in this
fashion.

Some of you are pissed that someone would actually CON an older lady out of her money. Some of you are imagining your parents, grandparents, and can’t wait to tell them how much you love and appreciate them.

If we can get you to tell your grandmother, mom, dad, uncle, brother, sister et al,. that you LOVE THEM, then this article would have been worth it. I know it will because I wish I could turn back the hands of time and tell my grandmother, on that fateful night, that I loved her.

If you FEEL sadden by this story, its because what comes from the heart
TOUCHES the HEART

HOW DO I GET MY WRITING TO TOUCH THE HEART(CREATE EMOTIONAL
APPEAL)? AS actors have substitutions, you MUST have a tangible

SUBSTITUTE.

For Example:

If your assignment calls for you to write about bikini thongs and you don’t know
the first thing about bikini thongs, you would substitute that for the feeling of
SHOWING up in your FAVORITE apparel and someone telling you how GOOD
you looked, how SEXY you are; AFTERALL; We all know that THONGS are really not the ISSUE, but SEXINESS is, and EVERYONE has been made to FEEL sexy , are attractive, at lease ONE TIME IN THERE LIFE… Once you IMAGINE this time, your WRITING COMES ALIVE and before you know it you're CRANKING OUT well received articles on an CONSISTENT basis..

At the heart of it, COPYWRITING is the ability to CONVEY your message in such
a way that FOLKS will purchase your product.

This is true, HOWEVER, FOLKS get STUMPED ON THE EMOTIONAL PART. They look at WORDS as only a MEANS to an END and not the END ALL BE ALL

They don’t UNDERSTAND, that the reason there MESSAGE is NOT WELL RECEIVED is because they DID NOT touch the HEART OF THE READER…Many of them are good people,. FOLKS that have INTEGRITYhowever , they DON’T KNOW how to TOUCH THE HEARTS of the people!

WHEN you DON”T TOUCH FOLKS HEART. WHEN FOLKS DO NOT FEEL
WHAT YOU’RE SAYING. YOU WONT SELL….PERIOD!

You may have:

  • HARVARD, JD
  • MBA from The Kennedy Business School
  • Membership in an Exclusive Golf Club

HOWEVER, if you do NOT know how to WRITE in such way that folks FEEL
an EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT; in such a way that they WANT to BUY what
you’re selling…YOU WILL FAIL!

HOWEVER , you don’t have to FAIL. .

Your COMPANY Can FLOURISH

Your COMPANY will FLOURISH! Because you have us as POWERFUL
PARTNERS!

We will HELP YOU create a message that has EMOTIONAL APPEAL.

IF DOUBT THIS, then what did you FEEL when you read above about the
OLDER LADY? If we could make you FEEL EMOTION in the FIRST TWO
PARAGRAPHS, then we can MAKE YOUR COMPANY PROSPER.

HOW?

Because WE know how to make WORDS COUNT.

We know how to make WORDS MEAN SOMETHING!

Do you want your company to GROW and PROSPER?

ARE you PAYING too much money for too little results?

Do you know the message you want to convey to your customers?

Do you know your brand?

If you DO NOT KNOW the identity of your BUSINESS, then no one else WILL.

WE CAN HELP YOU

Social Media Marketing In A Nutshell...

In today’s marketing world, one can’t to notice the array of companies, both big and small who are now participating in the social media marketing realm. New accounts are being created each day by the 100’s if not 1,000’s on populars sites such as facebook, twitter, youtube and linkedIn.

Although we do encourage any and all brands to participate in most forms of social media marketing, we advice that you do so with plenty of strategy and tactical planning.

Social media marketing is about interacting, engaging, listening, sharing and holding conversation.

Just like when you go out to a bar, lounge, club or networking event, if you want to socialise, you have to be social.

Yes, there are those occasional times when others approach you but for the most part, one has to strike conversation in order to get a response.

We always tell our clients, learn to ASK, LISTEN and then RESPOND and from there, the conversation well carry itself.

Whether you're looking to grow your fan base, listen to what your customers are saying about your brand, improve your customer service, create brand awareness, do some community outreach or just plain build a new sales channel, social media marketing is an inexpensive way for you as a brand to position yourself in the marketplace with authority and confidence.

It will allow you to establish new and existing relationships with prospects and customers through means of relevancy, consistency and interaction.

Trust becomes the focus of all social media marketing campaigns.

Without trust there are no loyal relationships.

Trust is, reliance on the integrity, strength, ability and surety of a person or thing.

In simple terms, it is merely having confidence in someone or something.

When we tune into the social media realm, the same laws of influence that cause us to take action when it comes to decision making, fall into effect here as well.

You encounter these examples each day as you log into your facebook account to view new updates and wall post or tweet away about what’s happening.

Examples such as buying a product because it was referred to us,

3rd parties letting us know how they truly feel about a product or service instead of the brand brainwashing us into believing that we need their product or service

AND...testimonials and “LIKES” being the reason why we choose to make the decision to purchase.

Some Words of Wisdom, get out there and interact with the world. Meet new people! Engage in conversations, ask questions, share a picture or even upload a video.

Just make sure that when you do so, the marketing strategy is tactically planned with consistency and persistency

Branding Isn't Just For Animals!

Branding: Make IT! Own IT! Brand IT!

BRANDING - It Isn't Just For Animals!!!

I was once told the story of the brand on the livestock and ever since then, when I need to paint the picture to define branding, I tell this example.

To put an image into perspective I will use the example of livestock branding. Livestock branding is a technique used for marking livestock, typically cattle, in order to identify its owner.

Branding livestock dates back in origin as far back as the ancient Egyptians and ancient Romans, it was a technique used back then as symbols of protection towards any and all harm towards animals.

If you haven't seen a branding iron before, it is simply an iron rod with a symbol or mark at the end. The symbol is used by cowboys to identify there livestock from all other ranches so when it comes time to sell, they know who the livestock belongs to.

Corporate branding is no different. You the owner made the brand. You must now take charge, take control, own it and brand it as yours so when the time comes and one ask you: "And to whom do I make this check out to?" you can say in your head $Cha-Ching!$

So how exactly do you develop a brand?

Brand Identity: What Makes U YOU!

You are an entity. Whatever you choose to be perceived as is completely up to you. Identifying your brand is like identifying your spouse, best friend and or relative, you just know who they are. Corporate branding is based on the same principles of great morals and ethical values.

Those who we love, care, trust and believe in, we associate ourselves with.

We as consumers buy based on preference. We buy from brands we know, love, trust and believe in.

As a corporate identity we must look at our brand from the outside looking in. Think from the consumers stand point. What can you do for them? How are you going to solve there problems, needs, wants, demands and or desires? What is in it for them?

Does your brand posses a personality? Is it driven and motivated build on a solid foundation of goals and aspirations? Does it have a long term committed vision?

Corporate Branding: Add Some Flavor To The Mix

What is your corporate identity? Is it boring, repetitive and non engaging? Or is it memorable, different, inspirational and entertaining?

Have you ever asked your customers and or clients how they perceive your company? What do they honestly think of your company? Remember, your brand isn't what you think it is, rather it is what your prospects, customers and or clients think it is.

- Learn to LISTEN!

- You must then Formulate a strategy based on your research to determine the best way to tactically positioned yourself in front of your prospects. This can be accomplished by means of surveying, focus groups, polls, social media communities and telemarketing.

- Finally, Understand the prospect, customer and or client.

Inspire! Educate! Entertain! Connect!

Make the impossible, possible! Don't just THINK...THINK DIFFERENT!

FB Fan Pages: What Are They? How Do They Work?...And How Do You Make Money On It?

Social Media this, Social Media that. XYZ Company just tripled their numbers with one single Tweet. Tim's Gizmo's & Gadgets now makes most of their sales through a little thing called a Facebook fan page.

So if they're doing it pretty well and it seems to be working for them, you might ask yourself, "Why haven't I jumped on board, and how exactly does it all work?"

Common questions of uncertainty may fall under the subject of:
  • Time Commitment
  • Benefits
  • Simplicity
  • Tools
  • Tracking Results
Let's face the facts here people. Facebook has over 500 million active users and growing, with newly untapped markets rising within its internal network every day. The sky really is the limit if you just apply a few simple procedures for a few hours each day.

Fan Page

Step 1:

Type in www.Facebook.com onto your url.

Step 2:

Go to the bottom of the page and click on the “Create a Page” link at the bottom of the Facebook homepage
.

 Step 3:

Choose the type of page and give it a title (Your page name can be changed only once after you reached a minimum of 25 friends.)

With the creation of applications, Facebook has made it extremely easy to function and maintain your fan page.

To view some of the apps. Facebook has to offer go to: http://www.Facebook.com/apps/directory.php

I've always found that the “Involver” is quite a handy application tool: http://www.involver.com/applications/free/

Now that you're a little familiar with applications, let's get going to the rest.
By the way, before I almost forget,
once the app is installed, depending on the application process, all you have to do to edit is go on your main default fan page and under the image of the fan page you will see a link that is called EDIT PAGE.

Here you can edit the entire back end of the page and manage the page as well.

You can add images if you want but I must let you know, for higher converting fan pages
and to attract a larger following, make the fan pages as personal as possible.

If you look like a corporate page, automatically most assumptions will be made that you will try to sell.  Quite frankly, people just don't want to be sold on Facebook.

Landing Pages

The LANDING Page is where all your prospects land when visiting the fan page. This being said, you want this page to be eye catching and interesting. Give people a reason to join. Use your imagination and think of a strong call to action. Let people ENGAGE!

If you want to take your Facebook fan page to the next level, below are a few links to template builders. If you are not familiar with HTML coding or Facebook's version called FBML, then I would highly suggest you hire a professional web developer or graphic designer.

You can visit DesignLingo's website for more details & a FREE quote at http://designlingo.com/

Fan Page Generator: http://www.fanpagegenerator.com/

Facebook Tab Site: http://www.facebooktabsite.com/

Fan Page Engine: http://fanpageengine.com/

Content is King

Content by far is the number one driving source behind a fan page. Relevant copy will convert to more followers. More followers will lead to a larger pipeline of prospects. A sturdy and steady pipeline of prospects will lead to greater sales and a residual back end return.

    • Content should be interesting and conversational
    • Get your followers to interact
    • Provide FREE information in the form of a video or text.
    • Become the authority figure.
    • Build relationships and trust.
    • Get a better understanding of your target audience.
    • Communicate with your customers, clients and fans.
    • Let them into your life.

When it comes to all these profile pages, submitting information, and time consuming actions, one might have an endless amount of questions with a need for answers.

      Fan Page Tip #1

*** Suggest All Friends To "Your Fan Page" At Once, Not Individually! ***

      1.) Become a fan

2.) Select "Suggest To Friends Under Picture"

3.) Copy This Code and Paste onto URL browser: (***the web browser, where you would type in a new website***)

Make sure to delete the current url address, clear then paste the code below.

      Click Enter.

      javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends').getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

Be patient and allow for the code to highlight all of your friends, may take a few minutes.

(The mouse will most likely freeze for a few minutes but once done you it should highlight all your friends in blue)

Saves you a chunk of minutes when done correctly.

Hope all this information was helpful and until the next blog ……

8 Crucial Steps to Promoting your Brand Identity (DesignLingo Blog - Client)

Hello EVERYONE!!! I was re-reading one of the blogs I recently wrote fro a client of mine DesignLingo and thought why not share this knowledge with the Grass Root Marketing following.

      Enjoy EVERYONE!!!

      1. Unify your Brand

The establishment of a cohesive brand is a key factor in any business's promotional activities. Create a Consistent theme for your company, and incorporate it into all your stationary, documents and website design. These techniques echo professionalism and class. If done well, a consistent brand can help you to build brand loyalty in your business.

Think of all marketing collateral as brand establishment.
      • Business cards
      • Brochures
      • Flyer's
      • Website
      • Packaging
      • Promotional Items, etc.
Brands are: Trusted, given repeated business, given a streamline of referrals, maintain customer loyalty, and most importantly, authorize a name for themselves.

      2. Fresh Content is King

Having  compiling content is key to effectively market your business. Your message should be clear and effectively tell your prospects why they should do business with you and only you. So make a compelling call to action about your business, product or service, and back it up!! Define your strengths and use them as leverage. Over-all keep it fresh!!!
      • Tell a story...
      • Be experimental...
      • Constantly update...
      • Track conversion...
      • STAND OUT!...
      • Stay simplistic...
      • Leave no question unanswered...
      • Have a strong Call To Action!...
      • Lead the way...
      • Build relationships FIRST before ANYTHING...

        3. Start a Online Outrage

Start an online community surrounding your business. Social Media Networking platforms such as facebook, twitter, youtube, digg and an endless assortment of blogs are key areas to promote your business. Social Networking makes it easy for your customers to converse and comment about your business.

Always, Always, Always understand: People by from People. We are most likely to buy from a person we trust then a complete stranger, although at times we can find ourselves doing the complete opposite, it is only then after in which we figure out there was a tactical phycological strategy he/she used to influence us instantly.

This is why the social network has turned into the mecca for new age customer interaction and lead generation innovation. It allows you as a business, artist and or organizational supporter to get closer then ever before to your prospects, existing customers and or fans.

        4. Culture and Personality

The culture of your company should be reflected in every part of your business. It should resonate in your print and website presence. Roar with a unique personality both offline in your PR efforts and online in your social media communities.

Welcome everyone into your company like grandma welcomes everyone into her house. We're all one big happy family and if you treat every customer, client, prospect and or fan that way, Your companies success will be with a "BIG happy family."

        5. Become a Giver

Give away your services (promotion) and your Knowledge. Know and understand the power of FREE! You must give to get. FREE is the most powerful word in marketing. We as humans magnetize ourselves to the word FREE.

If you strategize correctly FREE will instantly establish a great name for your brand as committed, loyal, trusting and caring.

As cheesy as it might sound think of it as this:

        Giving is caring,
        caring is loving,
        loving is trusting,
        trusting is Giving.

As long as you give, (by the law of reciprocity) eventually sooner then later one will give back to you. It's how this universe works and a business is no different.

        6. Start a Tribe.

Make it easy for others to give you a shoot out.Lets go back to the law of reciprocity, as one performs an act of positive action, in return one will receive an act of positive intention.

Isn't that what a referral is? What about a discount or coupon? We can't forget the infamous word FREE.

Kill them ALL with kindness and give nothing but love as your main focal point of a service oriented business.

You're kindness will yield positivity in return. Be respectful, kind, caring, trusting, enthusiastic, energetic, genuine and courteous and watch them flood through the "doors".

        7. Have a Loud Voice

Be seen. EVERYWHERE! And Yes I do mean literally EVERYWHERE!

Know where the eyeballs are and tactically position yourself in front of them. This means you better have placement on every single major search engine out there, expertise in the social media field, an Internet marketing budget, familiarity with web 2.0 and the power of video marketing, a crafty graphic designer and web developer in hand and a strategic marketing plan to execute the proper procedure.

        8. Build A Team

A team is the foundation of your success. Unification, communication, trust and leverage creates a sturdy base.

Start with baby steps but also take into consideration having the help of a team along the way won't hurt.

Leverage the power of multiple brains and delegate task to those who are more suited for the task in hand.

Communicate all success, uncertainty and or any other updates.

Trust in each other and build a strong bond, maintaining consistency of communication at all times.

Brand development and establishment is one of the main keys to positioning your company as the go to company when it comes to your product or service. Expectations are high in today's world and a unique experience will definitely separate YOU from the rest.

Stay consistent, fresh, relevant, and compelling. Provide an experience worth investing time into.

Your BRAND is YOU! It is your Image. It is who your Represent.Without it you are NOTHING!

strategize a tactical plan for your brand, below is a diagram which will help you to strategize a plan for your brand.
